Doriana Villa
​The name and mood of this site is in homage to the main shooting location of director Jess Franco's film Doriana Gray (aka Die Marquise von Sade and Das Bildnis der Doriana Gray/1975)—a liminal dimension of enigmatic mystery and strange beauty by the edge of an eternal sea. What a fitting honor to have Monica Swinn, one of the same film’s supporting actors, comment: “This site irresistibly reminds me of a phrase by Charles Baudelaire: ‘L'étrangeté est le condiment nécessaire de toute beauté’ (Strangeness is the necessary ingredient in all beauty)”.
